Zambia is a safari enthusiast’s dream with over 30% of the country’s land allocated to National Parks (Culture, n.d). Not only is there an array of some of the world’s biggest and best game parks to choose from for a Zambia tour or safari, such as the vast Kafue National Park or the famous South Luangwa, there are also many safari activities available too (Safari in Zambia, n.d).

Whether it’s a canoeing safari along the game-rich shores of the Lower Zambezi, or following in the footsteps of the pioneers into the Zambian interior on a mobile walking safari through North Luangwa National Park, you are sure to find something in the continent’s spectacular wildlife and scenery to thrill and amaze you (Safari in Zambia, n.d).

Top 5 Activities to do in Zambia

Victoria Falls - Largest Waterfall in the World!

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven natural wonders of the worldVictoria Falls, also known as the smoke that thunders, is a must-see for any visitor to Zambia. The perfect way to relax pre or post-safari, there are romantic lodges out along the Zambezi river (Imagine, n.d).

Devil's Pool

One of the most thrilling experiences – not only at the falls but in all of Africa is the hair-raising journey to Livingstone Island. Here you will bathe in Devil's Poolnature’s ultimate infinity pool, set directly on the edge of the Victoria Falls. You can leap into the pool and then poke your head over the edge to get an extraordinary view of the 100m drop (Devil's pool, n.d).

Elephant Trail

An opportunity to interact with these gentle jungle giants as well as an opportunity to learn more about them from the guides. Being around these enormous animals and moving along with them during the safari is a sobering experience and one that is not easily forgotten (Safari in Zambia, n.d).

Lion & Cheetah Walks

Partake in this intimate experience with the Kings of the Jungle. This activity includes interacting and walking side by side with the lions and Cheetahs through Victoria Falls, learning about their habitat and behavior from our knowledgeable guides as well as the conservation challenges they face in the wild (Safari in Zambia, n.d).

Walking Safari

Regarded as the home of the walking safari, Zambia (and the Luangwa Valley in particular) is the perfect place to get out on foot. With a mixture of lodge-based walks and longer walking trails, walking can be as big or small a part of your trip as you want, but we strongly believe nobody should go on safari in Zambia and not do at least some game viewing on foot (Safari in Zambia, n.d).
